FAQ
EMI Calculator — frequently asked questions
How is EMI calculated?
EMI = P × r × (1 + r)^n ÷ ((1 + r)^n − 1), where P is the loan amount, r the monthly rate (annual rate ÷ 12 ÷ 100) and n the tenure in months. Example: a ₹10,00,000 loan at 9% for 120 months (10 years) gives a monthly EMI of ₹12,667.58, total interest of ₹5,20,109.29 and a total payment of ₹15,20,109.29.
Does the EMI include processing fees or insurance?
No. The result covers principal and interest only. Add bank charges, processing fees and insurance separately.
Does it work for a 0% interest loan?
Yes. With a zero rate, the EMI is simply the loan amount divided by the number of months.
